About
I am a graphic designer specialising in digital mediums for music, arts & culture, with an interest in the visual languages of marginalised subcultures, particularly queer club culture and afrofuturism.
As a DJ, music is deeply intertwined into my clientele, references and aesthetic approach. I am deeply inspired by album artwork, event posters and record label brand identities, particularly from the psychedelic dreamscapes of early rave art and the futuristic minimalism of the 2000s.
My work is brought to life by editorial composition, mixed mediums, layered texture, queering normative references and vibrant colour palettes.
A graduate of Leeds Arts University, I have freelanced since 2019 creating identities & promotional artwork for culture pioneering organisations such as Crack Magazine, LIFT Festival, Resident Advisor, Locked On Recordings, and a variety of acclaimed music event promoters like Freak Queer Rave, Leeds Pride Pumpathon, Rat Party, and Shake It.
My special interest in the visual language of queer club culture led to my involvement in social history archiving project Love Conquers Clubland, bringing to light the untold stories of Leeds legacy of mixed safe spaces in the 90s & 00s that challenged the prejudice and discrimination in club culture and put creative self expression at the forefront of the clubbing experience.
